Religious Education
A large part of our Religious Education program is proper preparation for our students to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation. We also nurture the graces received in these sacraments by continuing the children’s education in faith and deepening their relationship with Jesus Christ at every level. Working together, we do our best to build a firm foundation in our Catholic faith.

Anna E. Kelly Scholarships / Youth Ministry Awards 2021
In May 2021, twelve (12) high school seniors from the Parish received the Anna E. Kelly Scholarship / Youth Ministry Awards for serving a minimum of 4 years of Christian Service. Each year, Our Lady, Star of the Sea Parish awards $1000.00 to graduating High School Seniors from our Parish. The recipients are honored for their faithful witness to Jesus Christ and for their commitment to the parish where they have served four years of Christian Service. For most of our recipients, their Christian Service has exceeded the four year requirement. Their service activities include participation in Ministries such as Lector, Altar Server, Religious Education Teachers' Aide, Cantor and Gospel Choir members, service at "My Brother's Table," and the Marblehead Interfaith Food Pantry, and other activities of a volunteer service nature.
Background of the Anna E. Kelly Scholarship / Youth Ministry Award
This scholarship was founded by Anna E. Kelly, who was a dedicated, long-time parishioner of Our Lady, Star of the Sea. She was committed to the pursuit of learning and to promoting educational opportunities for the young people in our parish. Upon her death in 1995, she generously bequeathed a sum of money to Our Lady, Star of the Sea to start a Scholarship Fund for deserving students of the parish. We offer this scholarship to students each year in her name. The funds for these scholarships are renewed yearly by generous donations, and we always welcome your contributions to this scholarship fund. If you would like to donate to this fund, for the benefit next year's student scholarships, please click here to make a one-time donation (in the comment section, please note Anna E. Kelly Fund), or you can donate by mailing or dropping off cash/check to the Rectory at 85 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead, MA 01945.
